Ready to Enjoy a Breakfast of Christians?

Breakfast of Christians plate

Imagine walking into your kitchen and reaching for a box of cereal. Instead of a picture of a popular sports figure on the box, you see a picture of Jesus. After you pour cereal flakes into your bowl, sprinkle sugar, and add milk, you read the back of the box and discover what you should do each morning as a way to reaffirm your faith and relationship with God, and welcome his favor and grace for your day with a Breakfast of Christians.

Needed Spiritual Nutrients

Whether you are an early riser or someone who likes to savor your time between the sheets, starting the day with the right combination of spiritual nutrients will keep you spiritually healthy and put a spring in your Christian walk throughout your day.

If you’re like me, you’re not much of a breakfast person. But as the experts suggest, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Numerous studies have connected a good breakfast to overall good health and specific benefits, including better memory and concentration, lower bad cholesterol, and lower chances for some diseases. Skip breakfast, they say, and you could be dragging by afternoon.

The Healthy Table of Christians

The same applies to your spiritual health and vitality. Before you start your busy day, spend time at the table of Christians, enjoying the breakfast of Christians, an all-natural, non-fat, cholesterol-free joy to behold and digest.

Try this selection of six breakfast T's each morning to have a breakfast of Christians.

  1. Turn to God.

  2. Take time for God.

  3. Think about God.

  4. Talk to God.

  5. Thank God.

  6. Trust God.

Take Time to Communicate with God

Turn your attention to God as you would to talk to a friend. Stop what you are doing and spiritually look his way. Once you’ve given him your attention, take time with him. Don’t turn to him and then say, “Well, I have to go now.” Simply stay with him.

Think about God. Even before you begin talking to God in whatever way you best communicate with him, mentally focus on him. Let your mind savor his many magnificent attributes.

This will likely lead you to begin praising him, a great bridge to cross into a talk with God. Whether its through formal prayers or impromptu utterings, allow the Spirit to open your heart and soul in prayer.

Thank God for all the blessings he was given you, those about which you know, those unseen, and even those disguised as challenges.

Then trust him to write the story for the rest of the day and be excited about reading every sentence of the story. Reaffirm your relationship with him, his favor, his grace, how to use his gifts.

Don't Forget Spiritual Snack Times

All these elements can also be incorporated into your meal times throughout the rest of your day, including a snack or two, and a bedtime snack to end a spiritually power-packed day.

Remember, the Breakfast of Christians is an all-natural, non-fat, cholesterol-free spiritual joy to behold, digest, and strengthen you daily Christian walk..
